Read how an entrepreneur’s good idea became a huge success
Entrepreneur Daniel Hansen got a good idea one day when he was opening cardboard boxes and putting goods in stock.
When companies receive goods for stock in cardboard boxes, the top is either held to the sides or cut off. This often means that cardboard boxes cannot be recycled. This is a huge waste for both the environment and companies.
Instead of cutting the sides of cardboard boxes, Daniel wanted to develop a product that would gently hold the sides in place. The Flipholder, as it came to be called, was to be made of plastic with a soft, rounded surface that, unlike existing metal clips, does not damage the cardboard boxes.
After a couple of meetings with Daniel, where we discussed what requirements he had for the final product, our design department received a 3D file. After Design For Manufacturing, we manufactured the casting tool at our in-house tool factory in Denmark.
Just before we started production, Daniel announced that the first 20,000 flip holders had already been sold.
A few days later we had produced, packed, and delivered the red Flipholders. Daniel’s patented Flipholder was on the market and boxes could be recycled without any usage marks.
“I would always recommend Idé-Pro as a business partner for entrepreneurs. I came up with the idea, and a few weeks later, I had the first Flipholder in my hand. It couldn’t have gone any better”.
