Specifications and choice of material
Expanded Polystyrene is available in several types that have different features.
As standard we have selected 4 different types of EPS:
- Styropor –standard EPS with or without flame retardant (white)
- Peripor –EPS with less water absorption and flame retardant (white)
- Neopor –EPS with graphite, improved insulation and flame retardant (grey)
- E-por –special EPS med Polyethylene, which gives a higher shock absorption and flexibility
Specifications for Styropor:
Features:
Without flame retardant:
- Especially useful for energy saving applications
- Approved for direct food contact
- Good thermal insulation properties
- Fire regulations met at densities 15-40 kg/m³: EN 13501-1 - Class E
With flame retardant:
- Good thermal insulation properties
- Specifically used for insulation in applications where there are special fire regulations.
- Fire regulations met by the use of insulation at densities> 25 kg/m³: DIN 4102 - B1
- Fire regulations met by the use of packing material at densities > 25 kg/m³: DIN 53438.3 - F1
Specifications for Peripor:
Features:
- Low moisture absorption by immersion and diffusion tests
- Good heat insulation
- Fire regulations met at densities of 15-40 kg/m³: EN 13501-1 - Class E
- Added flame retardant
Specifications for Neopor:
Features:
- Especially good thermal insulation and therefore suitable for low-power applications
- Fire safety requirements met at densities of 15-40 kg/m³: EN 13501-1 - Class E
Specifications for E-por:
Features:
- Shock absorbing and elastic
- Resistant to crack
- The same qualities as Polystyrene
